Determination of plants of the Bromeliaceae family and their growing in the Botanical garden in Tábor
PECHAČOVÁ, Johana
This diploma thesis deals with determining plants from the Bromeliaceae family in the Botanical Garden in Tábor. The collection of bromeliads in the original greenhouse has not yet been completely determined. Due to the overall reconstruction of the garden planned for 2024, the original greenhouse will also be reconstructed, and a new exhibition of plants of the Bromeliaceae family will be created here, in which their determination and proposal for cultivation according to the outputs of this diploma thesis will be applied. With the help of professional literature and articles, their determination, evaluation of their health status, and a proposal for improving the conditions for their cultivation in the newly reconstructed greenhouse of the Tábor Botanical Garden will be provided.
Aquinas and Suarez on Free Will
STRAKOVÁ, Kristýna
he diploma thesis deals with free will, mainly from a historical point of view, specifically from the point of view of Aquinas and Suárez. They are contrasted with Hobbes, who takes a completely different position. In this diploma thesis, it is mainly a comparison of the concepts of free will of Aquinas and Suárez. In the first chapter, free will is discussed in general, in the following chapter, various directions that deal with free will are listed. Other chapters are devoted to Aquinas, Suárez and Hobbes. In the last chapter, the opinions of these authors are compared.
Určování terestrických forem lakušníků (\kur{Ranunculus} sect. \kur{Batrachium})
VLČKOVÁ, Linda
Ranunculus sect. Batrachium is one of the most intricate groups of aquatic plants. Apart from typical submerged plants, they may grow also terrestrially and determination of the terrestrial forms is very difficult. The aim of this thesis was to establish whether the terrestrial forms of Ranunculus trichophyllus and Ranunculus peltatus differ in their morphology. The species were determined by flow cytometry and the morphological features were measured and analysed.
Morphological differences between the skulls of lions (Panthera leo) and tigers (Panthera tigris)
Šádková, Jolana ; Formanová, Dominika (advisor) ; Pyszko, Martin (referee)
The aim of the thesis was to evaluate possibilities of morphological differentiation of skulls of lions (Panthera leo) and tigers (Panthera tigris) for the purposes of control authorities supervising a trade with endangered species protected by CITES. Tiger skeletons are one of the black markets highly lucrative and plentifully traded goods. Tiger skeletons might be easily exchanged for those of the lions, therefore their distinction is crucially needed for the control authorities. Therefore, a literature search on the morphological differences between the skulls of these two large felids with a focus on non-metric features was carried out. The results of the study show a possibility of distinction between lion and tiger skulls, though different identification features are shown among studied papers. Morphological differences and characteristics of individual subspecies or populations, as well as differences between the sexes and differences caused by specific conditions during ontogenetic development (such as captive breeding) are discussed. The results of the bachelor's thesis suggest a high reliability of species identification by simultaneous usage of multiple morphological characteristics of skulls. However, this conclusion should still be verified by empirical examination of selected...
Typology and teeth determination of selected mammalian species
Černá, Adéla ; Říhová, Pavla (advisor) ; Pyszko, Martin (referee)
In this bachelor's thesis I am dealing with mammalian teeth. I have focused mainly on the teeth of certain species that are endangered and for which significant levels of illegal trade have been recorded. In selecting the species I focus on, I base my thesis on the analysis of data from the EU-TWIX and CITES Trade Database, which is compiled at the Environmental Forensic Sciences at the Faculty of Science, Charles University. The most endangered species traded include felines, canids and ursids. In this thesis, I mention how teeth can be identified, what an ideal tooth should look like, I describe what a tooth is made of, why teeth are traded at all, what they are used for, and how individual teeth can be confused with other mammal species. I also mention the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species CITES. For this research I have largely used articles from abroad, available on the Web of science. Key words: teeth, mammals, determination
Development and evaluation of computer application for teaching and determination of natural species
PECHAR, Luboš
Available e-learning applications for teaching and recognition of natural species and testing the level of achieved knowledge were evaluated in this thesis. Problems and limits of these tools were identified. Based on the evaluation the unique tool for test developing was designed which can be used for self-learning as well as for testing within the school program. The outcome of the theses is a new application "Poznávačka". New application allows teachers to create lists of species which are available as a study material for their students.
Determination of the Exchange Rate
KRČMOVÁ, Daniela
This bachelor thesis deals with determination of the exchange rate. The main aim of the thesis is verification of chosen methods of the determination of a particular exchange rate in real market conditions. In the first part, the bachelor thesis deals with basic terms related to the currency market and are essential for understanding of a given matter. In this part there are described: the currency market, exchange rate quotation and different exchange rate systems. To understand given matter it is necessary to find out, how the given exchange rate works, what we can expect from it in the following years and thus estimate the future development of currency exchange rate. At the end of the theoretical part there are three basic theories of determination of the exchange rate introduced. Those are the purchasing power parity, the interest rate theory, and the last theory deals with the balance of payments. In the practical part I introduce three methods of determination on the exchange pair CZK/GBP, which is observed in the time frame from 2006 to 2017. To prove the validity and consequently compare the theoretical exchange rates with real exchange rates, uncovered interest parity, absolute and relative version of the purchasing power parity and lastly the theory of balance of payments of both countries were used. The future development according to the theory of balance of exchange rate is compared on the basis of current account and overall balance of payments of given countries. Based on the results, a best method of determining the future exchange rate development is suggested.
Referential properties of bare noun phrases in Czech
Burianová, Markéta ; Šimík, Radek (advisor) ; Lehečková, Eva (referee)
The subject matter of the diploma thesis is the bare noun phrase and its referential properties with focus to (in)definiteness. The aim is to present an empirical evaluation of factors that influence the interpretation of definiteness of bare noun phrases in Czech. The first part of the thesis recounts on existing theories of reference and definiteness, both in general and with focus to Czech as a language without obligatory determination. Our basic assumption is that the interpretation of definiteness of bare noun phrases is based on their position within a syntactic and semantic sentence structure, topic-focus articulation and word- or situational context. We focus on the relation between definiteness and an absolute position within a sentence, a verb-relative position and modification of the NP. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Philosophy of extreme voluntarism (Schopenhauer) and its influence on later authors (Friedrich Nietzche and Ladislav Klima)
LASTOMIRSKÁ, Jana
The work deals with the extreme voluntarism and his influence on later authors. First, is the work of Schopenhauer explained the concept of the metaphysical will. Here is insights will primarily as a form of objectification and the closest is served objectification of the body, understood as object. In next section, this will monitored in philosophy of Ladislav Klíma and his idea of egodeism. For Klíma however, metaphysical will lose its transcendent ability and insight from a purely subjective point of view. The last part is mentioned Friedrich Nietzsche, whose theory of the will to power and the death of God, could be an inspiration for the Klíma's idea of egodeism.
